Top 5 Trends for Your Tresses in 2016

The beginning of a new year is exciting for many reasons. We have a whole 12 (now 11) months of reinvention ahead of us with new resolutions we commit to, goals in mind, and trends to try. Since most of our products are to be worn atop the head, we wanted to showcase to you the newest hair revolutions you can check out to spice up your own 2016!

1. Glam Headpieces and Hair Accessories

Release your inner Greek goddess or retro vixen with a bit of sparkle and sheen. Hide the fact that you stayed up all night with back-to-back episodes of your favorite Netflix show by keeping your hair simple to show off an eye-catching headband like our Brielle Halo, vintage hair pins, or a sparkling gold chain woven into your up-do. The nice thing about this trend is that you can add small glitzy touches here and there or make a statement with a larger ornament like the photo above.

2. The Long and Short of It
2016 is going to be a year of decisiveness. Being so, there will be very little middle ground for the length of your tresses and low-maintenance will be a key ingredient. What we are looking at is an embracing of either the sassy, classic bob -in the style of Anne Hathaway- or sultry, carefree lengths:

3. Low Buns & Ponytails
While a top-knot can be an easy way keep hair out of your face, it's not hard to cross the line too far in either direction and end up in ballerina or bedhead land. Luckily, the new year is keeping things low-key with styles that stay close to the nape of the neck.

Tip: Add some extra retro 'umph' by dividing your hair so that you have a 1 inch wide section along your hairline from temple to temple. Flip this section over (or tuck behind your ears) and lightly tease the hair underneath in segments all the way to the back of your head. Once finished, sweep your locks into a sophisticated, volumized ponytail or bun, and you're done!

4. Bronde
Last year we saw lots of wild shades in the hair coloring arena. However, we now seem to be edging away from the bolder, jewel-toned dos and granny hair with its silvery hues to take a more bohemian approach.

Something beautiful we are seeing more and more of is a trend called bronde. Depending on your natural hair color, blonde or brown babylights and balayage are blended together to create a gorgeous burnt caramel hue. Neither brown nor blonde, it compliments almost all complexions and is a great alternative to the platinum and true black tones that were such a staple.

 5. Go Natural
It's time to embrace your curly, straight, wavy, or otherwise unpredictable locks. We're talking about air-drying, folks!
The beauty industry is getting into the nitty gritty on how to showcase the hair you were born with; but that's not to say you shouldn't use any product. On the contrary, the utilizing of serums and creams specifically formulated to your hair type can help immensely in spotlighting the true essence of the mane you were meant to have!

To sum things up, this year is all about discovering your own natural style and celebrating the individual. There will never be one-size-fits-all, no matter what the tag says. Remember to have fun while you're trying these five ideas and find the one makes you the most confident. While trends will always come and go, and no matter how excited we are about the beautiful styles that are emerging for this year, remember that nothing is more stunning than a woman who delights in who she naturally is inside and out!
